Less than 33,000 new COVID infections detected in Russia for the second day in a row

Over the past day, 32,974 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Russia, the operational headquarters said. 1,215 people died.

The top three regions where the most people were infected per day are still Moscow (3.3 thousand people), St. Petersburg (2.5 thousand people) and the Moscow region (about 2 thousand people). On the fourth and fifth place - the Samara region (887 people) and the Krasnodar Territory (840 people).

The total number of cases of infection in the country amounted to 9.76 million people. More than 280 thousand people have died since the beginning of the epidemic. According to Rosstat, by the end of September, the number of coronavirus-related deaths (that is, when COVID-19 was not the main cause of death, but led to the complication of other diseases) amounted to 462.4 thousand people.

In Russia, the fourth wave of coronavirus is on the decline. The number of cases of infection recorded per day began to decline after a peak of 41.3 thousand on November 6. Then this figure set a record for the entire time of the pandemic.
