In Russia, 32.6 thousand people infected with coronavirus were detected per day

According to the operational headquarters, 32,602 cases of coronavirus have been detected in Russia over the past day. The number of infected people has risen to 9.8 million over the years.

1,206 people have died in the past 24 hours (over 281,000 in total since the start of the pandemic). By the end of September, the number of coronavirus-related deaths (when it was not the main cause of death, but led to fatal complications of other diseases) reached 462.4 thousand, Rosstat reported.

Most of the infected people are in Moscow, more than 3.3 thousand cases have been detected here over the past day. In second place is St. Petersburg (2.4 thousand), in third place is the Moscow Region (about 2 thousand). They are followed by the Samara Region (878) and the Krasnodar Territory (814).

The peak incidence in Russia was registered on November 6: 41.3 thousand people were infected that day. Since then, the number of infections per day has been declining.
