The average duration of the CORONAVIRUS disease in patients is 11 days, said the Deputy DIRECTOR for Clinical Work of the G.N. Gabrichevsky Rospotrebnadzor, DOCTOR of medical sciences Tatyana Ruzhentsova.

“According to studies, the average duration of covid-19 is 11 days. But in patients, this period can range from just one or two days to 21–28 or more,” Ruzhentsova told RIA Novosti.

She clarified that after the 14th day, the ongoing symptoms are associated with complications arising from the disease. Their duration can be different - from three months to six months or longer.

Daria Khavkina, junior researcher at the Institute's clinical department, general practitioner Daria Khavkina added that the duration of the disease also depends on the characteristics of the body, the timeliness and correctness of treatment. According to experts, the vaccinated do not get sick for as long as the unvaccinated.
