
According to the Republican Office of Rospotrebnadzor, 216 cases of covid-19 were registered in the republic over the past week, a decrease of 47.2% compared to last week. A decrease in the number of cases is observed in all age groups, except for children under 0-2 years of age.
At the same time, the situation with the incidence of SARS and influenza remains tense. The incidence rate among the total population is 126.9% higher than the epidemic threshold. In just a week, 13,392 cases of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza were registered, the incidence rate is 219.9 per 10,000 people. According to intensive indicators, the highest incidence is observed among children.
In Petrozavodsk, 7585 cases of ARVI and influenza were registered during the week. The incidence rate is 270.2 per 10 thousand population, which is 109.2% higher than the epidemic threshold. Compared to the previous week, the incidence among the total population is 21.6% higher. Over the past week, due to the increased incidence of SARS and influenza in the republic, activities have been suspended: 174 classes in 47 secondary schools.
The Office of Rospotrebnadzor, in particular, recommended, as part of the prevention of influenza, to reduce the time spent in crowded places and public transport and to use a mask.
Since December 26, due to the high incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, schools in Petrozavodsk left ahead of schedule for winter holidays. In a number of settlements of Karelia, restrictions have already been introduced on holding mass events.
