
Representatives of the prosecutor's office appealed to the Novosibirsk Regional Court with a petition to review the sentence handed down to the former director of the Novosibirsk Aircraft Repair Plant (NARP) Alexei Mishenin. Svetlana Levshakova, Assistant Prosecutor of the Zaeltsovsky District of Novosibirsk, told Kommersant-Sibir about this. The prosecution asks for tougher penalties for Mishenin.
At the end of February of this year, the Zaeltsovsky District Court sentenced Mishenin to four years of probation. He was found guilty under part 4 of article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (misappropriation or embezzlement on an especially large scale).
According to the prosecution, in 2016, while holding the post of deputy chairman of the government of Buryatia, Mishenin, using his official position, together with “other persons”, stole 67.7 million rubles entrusted to him. JSC "Novosibirsk Aircraft Repair Plant" (part of the structures of Rostec). The investigation believes that the attackers disposed of the stolen money at their own discretion. Mishenin was detained by the FSB in December 2020.
The defendant agreed with all the charges brought against him. At his request, the criminal case is considered in a special order.
Mishenin was born in Novosibirsk in 1979. He received his higher education after graduating from the Faculty of Aircraft of NSTU. After that, he worked for eight years at the Novosibirsk Aircraft Repair Plant, rising to the rank of deputy director of the enterprise.
