Representatives of the United States and China to discuss the situation in Ukraine in Rome

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and Chinese Communist Party Central Committee Politburo member Yang Jiechi will meet in Rome on March 14 to discuss the situation in Ukraine. This follows from the statement of the press secretary of the National Security Council Emily Horn, published by the press service of the White House.

"Sullivan will meet with Chinese Communist Party Politburo member and Foreign Affairs Commission DIRECTOR Yang Jiechi as part of our continued efforts to maintain open lines of communication between the United States and the People's Republic of CHINA (PRC)," the statement said.

The White House specified that the parties will discuss efforts to manage competition between the two countries and the impact of the Russian military operation in Ukraine on regional and global security.

In addition, Sullivan is due to meet with Italian Prime Minister Luigi Mattiolo's diplomatic adviser to "continue to coordinate the international response" to the Russian military operation.
