Interview of the EU Ambassador to Russia on COVID passports and gas prices

Russia has not prepared documents for the EU that would allow Brussels to recognize COVID-certificates allowing travel without quarantine for those vaccinated against covid-19 , EU Ambassador to Russia Markus Ederer said in an interview with RBC.

According to him, all the information and requirements necessary for this were provided to the Russian Ministry of HEALTH back in July. After the release of the publication, the Ministry of Health told RBC that the necessary documents were sent to the EU Delegation, and their receipt was confirmed on September 30. Ederer also believes that the sharp rise in gas prices in Europe could negatively affect Russia's reputation as a reliable energy supplier. According to him, a "reliable supplier" in response to demand could increase supplies. “I’m not even talking about the fact that the lack of response can be regarded as an attempt to exert pressure to speed up the commissioning of Nord Stream 2,” Ederer said.
