
The capital's transport police are looking for two intruders, one of whom poured red paint over the editor-in-chief of Novaya Gazeta, Nobel laureate Dmitry Muratov, RBC was told in the press service of the transport department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Central Federal District.
Muratov was attacked on the Moscow-Samara train.
“During the boarding of passengers on the train at the Kazan railway station, two men in medical masks, calling themselves the conductor, went into the car. Then one of them entered the compartment and poured red paint over the passenger who was there, ”the police said.
The men ran onto the platform and fled, later police officers were called to the scene.
Earlier, Novaya Gazeta published a photo of Muratov after the attack. The footage shows that his head and T-shirt are stained with red paint, it is also spilled on the table and shelf of the compartment. “They poured oil paint with acetone in the compartment. The eyes burn terribly, ”said the journalist. He also added that the unknown person shouted: “Here you are for our boys!”
