The survey was conducted in November 2023 through an online questionnaire. it was attended by 2,190 respondents aged 18 years and over, living in Russian cities with a population of over a million.
Most often, sales managers (67%), education employees (56%) and lawyers (25%) were forced to visit the office during illness.
To regain strength, the vast majority of respondents (88%) require additional days of rest. For 40%, two to three days will be enough, a third (30%) expects to rest for three to five days, and every fifth (20%) would like to rest for another week after sick leave. Recovery is most often needed after illnesses such as covid-19 (84%), pneumonia (79%) and influenza (59%).
“The main reasons for Russians to stay at home longer were difficulties in completing the same volume of tasks immediately after returning from sick leave (74%), difficulties concentrating on tasks (40%) and the desire to take a breath and take a break from the accelerated pace of work (28%),” follows from the survey.
Another 9% want to be away from colleagues for as long as possible, 6% believe that they are very tired and cannot go to work.
