The Ministry of Health proposed to start purchasing certain types of medicines in case of shortage

The Ministry of Health has developed a draft resolution, according to which it can start purchasing certain types of medicines. We are talking about medicines that are not in circulation in RUSSIA, or for which there was a shortage, the document says on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.

According to the project, the ministry will also be able to redistribute such drugs in Russian regions based on monitoring results.

The explanatory note to the document states that the initiative will make it possible to quickly respond to the risks of a shortage in the pharmaceutical market, “without resorting to searching for other mechanisms to cover the needs of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation for scarce medicines, which will quickly ensure their availability on the territory of the Russian Federation.”

Giving the Ministry of Health the right to purchase certain types of medicines “will have a positive impact on the survival of patients <...> and will not affect the achievement of other (indicators) state programs of the Russian Federation, goals, indicators and results of national and federal projects,” the explanatory note also says .
