There are no plans to transfer schools to a remote work format at the federal level, Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov said on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

At the same time, Kravtsov added, regions with a severe epidemiological situation can independently make such a decision.

“Where we see that there is an increase in the disease in schools, then the regions, it is their right, make a local decision,” the minister explained.

In the Tyumen region, schools will be transferred to remote control due to COVID-19 Society

As of January 27, more than 160 schools were closed in Russia for quarantine due to COVID-19 - less than 1% of their total number in the country. Some regions have decided to transfer education in schools and colleges online. For example, such a measure was introduced in the Tyumen region for two weeks, from January 31 to February 12. In the Novosibirsk Region, it was decided to send elementary school students on vacation for two weeks, and transfer middle and high school students to distance learning for one or two weeks.
