Vladimir Putin's decision to launch a special operation in Ukraine is difficult to explain, French President Emmanuel Macron told CNN.
“I have no rational explanation. I think it's a mixture of resentment, regional hegemony strategy and, I would say, the aftermath of covid-19 . Isolation,” says Macron.
According to the French leader, Putin believes that in the period after the 1990s he was not sufficiently respected by politicians from other countries. “I don’t think that’s the reason for what he did,” Macron said. “But that’s his way of thinking.”
