Perhaps high prices are affecting, although they have risen slightly. Few operators now dare to increase prices. At the end of March, the following price levels mainly appear:

MILK 2.5%, film - 24.0-26.0 UAH/l kefir 2.5%, film - 28.5-30.0 UAH/l sour cream 15%, film - 64-70 UAH/kg cottage cheese 9 % - 110-124 UAH / kg

Producers may still try to slightly raise prices for May. Although there will not be such a surge in demand as in the spring of last year. Ukrainian consumers are already accustomed to all sorts of lockdowns and do not make strategic food stocks.

In February, the production of fermented milk products in Ukraine significantly decreased (-3% compared to February 2020, to 35.5 thousand tons), milk was also bottled 3% less (38 thousand tons). But the production of curd products is constantly growing. Almost 8 thousand tons were produced in February, which is 11% more than last year.

In fact, the consumption of cottage cheese in the country is unlikely to have increased, it’s just that many Ukrainians refuse market cottage cheese in favor of store-bought. In April, production figures will not increase much due to the Fast, but in May, you can count on a significant increase in sales of goods and, accordingly, the production of all whole milk.

Trends in the market of fresh dairy products in Ukraine are formed by a dozen operators. In the future, the leaders will increase their share, ousting small regional producers from the market.
