July 29, MINSK . In the project "In the subject" on the BelTA YouTube channel, member of the Alternative for Germany party, member of the Chamber of Deputies of Berlin Gunnar Lindemann explained why sanctions against Belarus and RUSSIA are harmful for Germany.

"To achieve peace, there is only one way - diplomatic. Germany needs good relations with Russia. Russia is a country with huge resources. And Germany is a country of modern technologies. And if you combine German technology and Russian resources, it will be beneficial for both countries. And, of course, for Belarus, which is located between them. Therefore, it is necessary to follow the path of economic cooperation and the rejection of the sanctions policy," said Gunnar Lindeman.

The German politician is convinced that Germany needs to get out of the influence of the European Union: “Germany should again represent German interests, and not the interests of some non-governmental organizations or other countries. And if the sanctions run counter to the interests of Germany, then it must stand up and declare loudly that will no longer follow this policy, but will go its own way."

According to Gunnar Lindemann, the Alternative for Germany party advocates the return of the idea of a "Europe of the Fatherland", where nation-states make politics. "Our farmers used to supply a lot of agricultural products to Russia: fruits , vegetables, MILK . Because of the sanctions, this is impossible, everything is prohibited. Farmers suffer millions of losses. This is just one example of many. The businessmen I meet tell me: " We must do something. "Of course, we can do something if we are part of the ruling coalition. This is our goal. This is what we are striving for," he concluded.
