September 5, MINSK . The first 100 tons of fresh apples have been successfully sold at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange auction for the domestic market, the BUCE press service told BELTA.

The buyer was one of the country's leading confectionery companies, and the seller was a Belarusian trading company engaged in the supply of raw materials for the food industry. it had previously concluded deals to sell dried mushrooms on the exchange platform.

"Until now, fresh apples have not been sold at BUCE. The auction was organized at the request of the buyer based on the purchase application placed by him. In addition to publishing the relevant announcement on the exchange website, all accredited suppliers of fruit and vegetable products were notified of the upcoming auction, which made it possible to fully satisfy the domestic enterprise's need for raw materials within the required time frame," the press service of the commodity exchange commented.

Exchange trading in vegetables and fruits is held at BUCE twice a week as part of regular trading sessions in the direction of "Food raw materials, groceries, fruit and vegetable products." Over the first eight months of the current year, the turnover of this segment of the exchange market reached Br63.5 million. This is twice as much as for the same period in 2024.

Based on the results of January-August, the top five products by the amount of transactions included complex food additives, starter culture for the production of MILK processing products, refined deodorized sunflower oil , cocoa powder and palm olein. The goods of Belarusian and Russian manufacturers are mainly sold at trades in food raw materials, groceries and fruit and vegetable products.

Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange OJSC was established in 2004. The first trades took place in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises in exporting their products and to assist foreign companies in entering the Belarusian market. The exchange sells metal, timber, agricultural products , industrial and consumer goods of a wide range.
