December 7, Hanoi. Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko discussed new areas of cooperation with Vietnam with Nguyen Huu Nghia, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hung Yen Province, BelTA reports.

As part of his official visit to Vietnam today, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko met with Nguyen Huu Nghia, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hung Yen Province. The two sides expressed their mutual desire to intensify cooperation in a wide range of areas.

Roman Golovchenko noted that he was pleased to be visiting Hung Yen Province, as Belarusians have established the most active cooperation with this region. "It so happens that production facilities using Belarusian technology have begun operating in your province. This is largely due to the efforts you are making toward the province's economic development," Roman Golovchenko said.

He noted that the MAZ Asia production site, the largest in Vietnam, is located in the province. "Today we visited the MAZ Asia joint venture. This is probably the largest production site with Belarusian participation in Vietnam. We hope that with your support, it will continue to develop," added Roman Golovchenko.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister also touched on the project to build a dairy plant. "Today, we were presented with a project to build a dairy plant using Belarusian technology and Belarusian milk powder. It is planned that it will produce large volumes of internationally popular dairy products, such as yogurt,"Ice cream , butter , cheeses , and so on," the Prime Minister explained the essence of the project.

"I would like to request assistance in quickly obtaining the necessary permits to begin this project. Its implementation will not only bring new investment to the region but also increase the gross regional product," he added.

Roman Golovchenko also proposed joint collaboration in the environmental field and spoke about Belarusian proposals to supply the region with equipment for sorting and processing municipal waste.

The Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee expressed readiness to intensify cooperation with Belarus. He also emphasized that favorable conditions exist for developing relations between Belarus and Vietnam. At a meeting with Roman Golovchenko, Nguyen Huu Nghia noted that trade between the countries is currently not very high, but Vietnam hopes it will increase.
