How to choose quality cheese? We visited a production facility in Postavy to find out.

Which Belarusian cheeses are popular in Russia? How do you choose the right one from the wide variety of products on the shelves? A BELTA film crew visited the Postavy Dairy Plant and found out all about it.

"What is Postavy Gorodok? First and foremost, it's the traditions that were established 20-30 years ago, and the people who maintain them. The core team remains," says DIRECTOR Georgy Kosten.
The plant can process up to 280 tons of MILK daily. Just over 10 years ago, it focused on cheese production. It also offers a whole-milk product line. While not as extensive as those offered by larger companies, it is traditionally high-quality, tasty, and healthy.

"The main market for our products is the Russian Federation. However, we prefer direct contracts with local federal retail chains," explains Deputy Director for Commercial Issues and Procurement, Alexander Tanana. "Our products are well known in the Magnit chain, which has 34,000 stores from Smolensk to Vladivostok. We began working with them back in 2014, when they had 13,000 stores. Our products are delivered to three of their distribution centers.
Postavy Gorodok has also been collaborating with Monetka, a local, dynamically developing Yekaterinburg chain, for 11 years now. In total, they supply the chain with about 5,000 tons of cheese annually."

"We sell about 300 tons of the cheese produced by our company in slices and bars," says Tatyana Titova, Deputy Director of Processing. "Sliced cheese is very popular.
But how do you choose the right cheese? We learned a life hack. Open the package, take a slice in your hands, and try to bend it. A good, high-quality, mature product won't break thanks to its soft, flexible consistency." The flavor will be pleasant and creamy.

"We're currently working on the Dutch slice. It should be uniform in color across the entire surface. Our packaging is very convenient; it allows you to reseal the bag for refrigeration," explains Tatyana Titova.
