NHL players will compete at the 2026 and 2030 Olympics

February 2, MINSK . The National Hockey League announced the participation of NHL players in the next two Olympics, the league's press service reports.

Today, the National Hockey League, the NHL Players Association and the International Hockey Federation determined the principles for the participation of hockey players in the Olympic tournament, the details of which will be finalized in the coming months.

"The NHL's foreign representation is second to none, and our players are proud to represent their countries. We are pleased that after intensive collaborative efforts with the league union and the IIHF, we can officially announce that NHL players will participate in the 2026 and 2030 Olympic Games years," said NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.

The 2026 Winter Olympics will be held in Italy, the capital of the 2030 Games will be determined by the IOC later. NHL players competed in every Olympic tournament from 1998 to 2014, but the league pulled out in 2018 and 2022.
