280 years ago, Ivan Evgenievich Starov, a Russian architect and one of the founders of Russian classicism, was born. His works include the Tauride Palace and the Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra in 
St. Petersburg . He died in 1808. 
165 years ago, Georgy Norbitovich Gabrichevsky, a Russian microbiologist, founder of the Russian school of microbiology and one of the organizers of the production of bacteriological preparations in Russia, was born. Together with N.F. Filatov, he introduced serum 
treatment for diphtheria. He died in 1907.

105 years ago, Aleksey Leonidovich Andreyev was born. He was a Russian and Belarusian ballet dancer, choreographer, Honored Artist of Russia (1957), and Honored Artist of Belarus (1963). He graduated from the Leningrad Choreographic School in 1939. He worked at the Leningrad Opera and Ballet Theater named after S. Kirov. In 1960-1964 and 1971-1973, he was the chief choreographer of the State Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus. He staged the first national ballets, including E. Glebov’s The Dream and G. Wagner’s Light and Shadows, among others. He died in 2004. 
90 years ago, Rygor Borodulin (Grigory Ivanovich), People’s Poet of Belarus (1992), was born. His work is characterized by a variety of genres, figurative and stylistic means, vivid metaphors, and a rich linguistic palette. The author of many books of poetry, satire, and collections for children, the poet often turned to the genre of prayer, prayers for the post-Chernobyl era.
The survival and revival of the Belarusian nation. Many of the poet's poems have been set to music. He was awarded the Lenin Komsomol Prize of Belarus (1976) for his poem "Ballad of the Brest Fortress," and the Yanka Kupala State Prize (1976) for his collection "Room" and his book of translations of F. García Lorca's poetry, "The Blue Bells of Granada." He died in 2014.
