105 years ago, Evgeniy Ivanovich Kachanov, Hero of the Soviet Union (1945), was born. During the Great Patriotic War from 1942 - on the Crimean, Central, 1st Ukrainian fronts. The commander of the rifle squad, Sergeant Kachanov, distinguished himself in battles on the Oder River. On January 27, 1945, Kachanov’s squad was the first to cross the river south of the city of Scinawa ( Poland ) and in the battle to expand the bridgehead destroyed about 100 Nazis. The seriously wounded Kachanov did not leave the battlefield. 01/28/1945 raised the soldiers to attack. Died in this battle.
90 years ago, Vladimir Iosifovich Tsegelsky, a Belarusian scientist in the field of computer science, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences (1976), associate professor (1983), was born. In 1958 he graduated from BSU. One of the first system programmers in Belarus. Author of scientific works on computer technology and software. Developed computer testing software and programming systems for the Minsk family computers.
