August 9, MINSK. There are already the first deliveries of tetrapack to Belarus from CHINA . This was told to journalists by Minister of Agriculture and Food Igor Brylo of the Council of Ministers about the functioning of the economy under sanctions and measures to overcome them, which was chaired by President of Belarus ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO, BelTA has learned.
During the meeting, issues related to Western sanctions and their impact on the work of various sectors of the economy, including the agro-industrial complex, were touched upon. Recently, there have been problems with bottling MILK in tetrapacks, the shortage of which is associated with the sanctions policy.“Tetrapack was an import-substituting position, it is packaging. As for the production of milk and whole- milk products in the country, it has not decreased,” explained Igor Brylo. ".
"We will make every effort to ensure that the volume of whole-milk products in stores is wide enough," the minister assured.
At the same time, he stressed: "There are already the first deliveries of tetrapack from China, but they are not yet so voluminous, nevertheless, the first steps have been taken."
Igor Brylo also said: "We are still a little dependent on the supply of imported seeds to the country. But every year we add more, increasing the production of our own seeds, in order to try to completely minimize the import of seeds from other countries in the coming years."
