In October, the average consumer price of pork on the bone was 309.97 rubles per kilogram.
According to the EMISS of the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), in September-October, a kilogram of pork in retail rose by 1.8%, from the beginning of 2021 - by 14.5%, year-on-year - by 15.2%. The rise in prices was observed within 11 months.
309.97 rubles is the peak value since the beginning of 2019. During this period, the price of pork dropped to a minimum in February 2020, when a kilogram of this type of meat cost an average of 255.82 rubles.
Since January, the average price of pork on the domestic consumer market has increased by almost 40 rubles (from 270.74 to 309.97 rubles). In October, the highest price recorded in the North Caucasian Federal District was 355.76 rubles, and the lowest in the Volga Federal District - 287.73 rubles. It should be noted that when analyzing the data, SoyaNews does not take into account the price of boneless red meat.
Experts attribute the increase in pork prices to the increase in production costs and the widespread spread of African swine fever, which leads to a decrease in supply with a stable demand for this type of meat in most regions of Russia.
