In the Novosibirsk region, chicken egg production in 2023 decreased by 14%. According to Novosibirskstat, in the period from January to July, poultry farms in the region produced 100 million units less than in the same period last year (639.2 million and 739.2 million units, respectively).
Market participants say that the reason for the sharp decline was the cessation of production of edible eggs at the Evsinskaya poultry farm. BFM-Novosibirsk was informed about this by two independent sources. This poultry farm specialized in egg production. Now they are going to raise broiler chickens there. At the time of preparation of the material, it was not possible to obtain a comment from the management of the enterprise.
Consumers have already noticed changes in the market, in particular this concerns residents of the Iskitimsky district of the Novosibirsk region. The poultry farm in question is located in this area.
“Normal, non-broiler chickens disappeared from stores. These were so-called laying hens, they were sold as soup chickens. They were produced at the Lebedevskaya poultry farm, which was virtually destroyed several years ago, and its remains were transferred to the Evsinskaya poultry farm. The chickens and eggs that were produced there were of very high quality,” says Valentina Petrova, a resident of Iskitim. “People came from afar to buy them in branded stores.” Now in these stores they say that soon there will be no eggs, because production is being curtailed. This seems to be due to the fact that large producers from the Omsk region and Altai have entered the market.”
Last year, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region reported an increase in chicken egg production and emphasized that the region has prospects for further increasing production volumes.
The editors of BFM-Novosibirsk sent a request to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region.
