An outbreak of infection in birds occurred in Abakan - doctors say be careful choosing meat

Quarantine was introduced in one of the private houses of Abakan. They found a focus of ornithosis, an infection in birds that can be transmitted to humans.

According to the mayor's office, the fire is located in one of the houses on Solnechnaya Street. The owner of the site was forbidden to breed, sell and buy birds.

Veterinarians advise residents of Abakan not to buy poultry meat in places where it is sold without documents. In addition, it is better for Abakan residents not to allow birds to fly into the area, to enclose their birds from wild ones, and also to regularly clean the premises where the birds are kept.

Ornithosis or parrot fever is an infectious disease that affects the respiratory systems of birds. In this case, the disease can be transmitted to a person through contact. Infected people may develop a fever, sore throat, runny nose, nausea, chest pain, nosebleeds, and other symptoms.
