Increasing the number of breeding cattle in Primorsky Krai

This year, Primorsky Krai continues to actively develop its agricultural sector, specifically by increasing its breeding stock. According to the latest data, 214 head of cattle have already been imported from breeding farms in the Sverdlovsk and Sakhalin regions and Nizhny Novgorod. It is expected that up to 1,200 head of young Holstein and Ayrshire breeds will be imported into the region by the end of the year.

The acquisition of breeding heifers from various regions of Russia will significantly increase the cattle population in Primorsky Krai. This will positively impact the development of agricultural organizations and farms in the region. The local Ministry of Agriculture notes that this step will help achieve the industry's development targets.

Some animals have already undergone quarantine, and others are in transit. By the end of May, an additional 308 head of cattle are scheduled to arrive, bringing the total number of imported cattle to 522. This increase will significantly increase the cattle population in the region.

Primorsky Krai is already known for its favorable conditions for livestock breeding. Currently, farms of all types in the region have approximately 44,000 head of cattle, including 22,300 cows. This represents an important resource for the development of the region's dairy industry.

Importantly, last year, agricultural enterprises in Primorsky Krai produced over 135,000 tons of milk, a 1.7% increase over the previous year. Government support through programs and financial assistance to agricultural producers facilitates the industry's development and creates favorable conditions for increasing milk production.

Developing agriculture in Primorsky Krai is a priority for regional authorities. Increasing the number of breeding cattle and increasing milk production will not only strengthen the region's economy but also provide the population with high-quality dairy products.
