Tula agricultural project for non-contact weighing of animals will be distributed in BRICS

A start-up based on artificial intelligence "Lazarevskoye Tech" for contactless weighing of animals, developed by experts from the breeding farm "Lazarevskoye" in the Tula region, intends to scale up to the BRICS countries in 2024-2025, said the owner and CEO of "Lazarevskoye", a member of the Presidium of the Russian branch of the Women 's BRICS Business Alliance Kristina Romanovskaya.

"As part of the BRICS-Africa ZhDA conference, I announced our startup "Lazarevskoe Tech" and a project for non-invasive non-contact weighing of animals using smart cameras. According to our calculations, the introduction of technology based on artificial intelligence will give our company annual savings of up to 49.9 million rubles and will reduce production costs by up to 5%.

According to her, colleagues and partners of the enterprise in the BRICS alliance have expressed their interest. "Technology for the world is truly unique and opens up new prospects for the development of animal husbandry in our mostly agrarian countries," the director of Lazarevsky stressed.

She noted that states should support agricultural producers who introduce environmentally friendly production technologies. "Using environmentally friendly technologies and following the path of sustainable development is very laborious and energy-intensive for business. Effective and rapid development of agriculture is possible if the state shares responsibility with agricultural producers. To strengthen food security, it is necessary to invest in new technologies, environmentally friendly approaches to crop production and animal husbandry ", - explained Christina Romanovskaya.

The breeding farm "Lazarevskoe" is located 50 km from Tula, is one of the largest agricultural enterprises in the region. Its structure includes a pig-breeding complex for 55 thousand heads, a meat processing plant with a capacity of about 3.5 thousand tons of products per year, a shop for the production of animal feed, and about 25 thousand hectares of agricultural land. The farm employs more than 850 people.

The BRICS Summit takes place in Johannesburg from 22 to 24 August and is the largest meeting of heads of state and government of the Global South in recent years.
