Rosselkhoznadzor blocked the import of 1.2 tons of illegal beef into the Northwestern Federal District at the border with Belarus.

The reason was a violation of sanitary and veterinary control requirements: the cargo was transported without proper temperature control, labeling was not followed, and there was no documentary evidence of the product's safety and origin. Based on the results of the examination and inspections, refusal reports were issued, the cargo was confiscated, and returned to the owner. Following similar cases in St. Petersburg and other regions of RUSSIA, the agency has strengthened controls over imported food products, emphasizing increased responsibility for suppliers to comply with Customs Union requirements and related regulations.
