Maxim Protasov, HEAD of Roskachestvo, during the plenary meeting of RBC on the first day of the Prodexpo 2021 exhibition, spoke about the key trends in consumption that have emerged in RUSSIA during the covid-19 pandemic. As a reminder, the meeting on Food Market Trends in 2021 was held on Monday
1 trend - a request for natural and fresh products.
The expert noted that here the work of Roskachestvo, as a certification body for Russian organic products, will actively continue in 2021. “In 2020, free certification of organic products was introduced for small and medium-sized businesses, I think that the organic shelf will expand,” Protasov said.
2nd trend - omnichannel - both in terms of brands and in terms of trading channels.
“Here we will pay attention to both control, monitoring the quality of online operators, and digital literacy of the population to work with these channels,” the head of Roskachestvo explained.
3rd trend - a trend towards conscious consumption. According to the expert, here people often add to the low price factor a request for product quality - which may seem paradoxical to many - how can one want a cheap and high-quality product at the same time. But at the same time, the consumer is really not ready to sacrifice quality for the price.
Foodtech after the pandemic: investors are investing in online sales and delivery, not in production
4 trend - a trend to request support from the state.
“This trend is everywhere. In 2021, we will launch a consumer rights protection center based on Roskachestvo, where we will more actively advise citizens on choosing products and answer their questions. it is important for us that a conscious consumer influences the market,” Maxim Protasov concluded.
