“As part of the first stage, about 4 thousand animals are kept at one of the enterprises in the Karasuk region - JSC Kalachinskoe. The project has been suspended for technology development. Questions arose about the safety and productivity of animals,” commented the head of the department. The timing of the suspension, according to the ministry, is unknown.

It was previously reported that the Gorkunov group of companies plans to implement a large project in the field of beef cattle breeding in the Novosibirsk region by 2027. Investments in the project were said to be about 30 billion rubles. It was planned to increase the number of cattle to 160 thousand heads. In 2020, the regional Ministry of Agriculture announced the plans of the Gorkunov Group of Companies to build about 30 beef cattle breeding farms , as well as feedlots and a selection and genetic center in six districts of the Novosibirsk region by 2027 . The JSC Kalachinskoye farm was purchased in April 2020, investments in it at that time amounted to about 1 billion rubles.
