Starting August 1, 2026, labeling will be mandatory for MEAT packaging, and starting October 1, 2026, for sausages. Registration for the labeling system will begin on March 1, 2026. This step is expected to help reduce the illegal trade of meat and sausage products and provide consumers with the ability to receive comprehensive product information and verify their legality. As a reminder, the meat labeling experiment began on August 1, 2025. Products high in SUGAR and trans fats may receive special labeling to warn of HEALTH risks.
