The government will not freeze food prices, only market mechanisms will be used to stabilize the cost.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture said they did not plan to freeze prices for SUGAR and butter, but intended to use other tools. Thus, the Ministry of Agriculture is preparing to introduce "a set of measures of customs and tariff regulation for the main categories of products, including grain crops, sunflower and sunflower oil, sugar and meat" and continue "state support for producers."
Trade will be checked for integrity
The Ministry of Industry and Trade, for its part, plans to apply a mechanism for fixing marginal prices for socially significant goods. According to the trade law, the government can freeze the cost of goods for up to 90 days if the prices of these goods have risen by 10% or more within two months.
