Kurgan producer of food was accused of taking a bribe to a veterinarian

The head of the Kurgan enterprise for the production of meat semi-finished products was charged with a bribe to a veterinarian in the amount of 240 thousand rubles. In the near future, the criminal case will be brought to court, the press service of the regional prosecutor's office said.

“The prosecutor's office of the city of Kurgan approved the indictment in a criminal case against the actual head of the enterprise for the production of semi-finished meat products. He is accused of committing a crime under paragraph "b" part 4 of Art. 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (giving a bribe on a large scale),” the supervisory authority said in a statement.

The investigation found that from 2016 to 2019, the defendant transferred more than 240 thousand rubles to the doctor of the Kurgan Veterinary Center for issuing veterinary and sanitary documents without examining the products and without sampling. In addition, the veterinarian did not inform her management about the violations committed at the enterprise. The money was transferred under the guise of payment for services for cleaning the premises, which was allegedly performed by a specialist of the veterinary center under fictitious contracts.

The businessman pleaded not guilty. He faces a fine of up to three million rubles or imprisonment for a term of seven to 12 years. With regard to the recipient of the bribe, the court has already passed, the prosecutor's office specified. In March, the woman was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking a bribe in a significant amount) and Part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed using her official position), she was sentenced to a fine of two million rubles.

Earlier, URA.RU reported on another similar criminal case. Kurgan entrepreneur Igor Chekashev, who was found to have more than two tons of meat of unknown origin, was suspected of giving a bribe to a veterinarian in the amount of at least 200 thousand rubles.
