The group of companies "Damate" began construction and installation work at the plant in Cherkessk

The press center of the Damate group of companies announced the start of construction and installation work at a plant for the slaughter of small cattle and meat processing in the capital of Karachay-Cherkessia. The modernization of the enterprise is part of an interregional project for the production of lamb in the North Caucasus Federal District of Russia.

After reaching full capacity, the plant in Cherkessk will process 720 thousand sheep per year, which is equivalent to the production of 42 tons of products per day or 12.6 thousand tons in carcass weight per year.

The reconstruction of the plant is carried out in partnership with the Russian Agricultural Bank, which allocated two credit lines to Damate for a total of 2.3 billion rubles. The first tranche - 1 billion rubles - has already been transferred to the holding's accounts. The Bank financed construction and installation work and the supply of technological equipment to equip production.

According to the head of Karachay-Cherkessia, Rashid Temrezov, one of the key economic effects that the government of the republic expects from the Damate project is new vacancies. About 500 local residents will be employed at the new enterprise. Another effect, synergistic, will result in the systemic development of sheep breeding. With the support of the Damate service company, sheep farms improve the genetics of their livestock. In the short term, they will enter new markets, and Karachay-Cherkessia will receive the status of a leader in the production of lamb in Russia.

Rashid Khairov, General Director of Damate, noted that, starting the technological re-equipment of one of the oldest enterprises in Cherkessk, the holding set the task of fully using the innovative potential, bringing the best solutions to the project and achieving a high level of automation of all processes. The organization of production is based on sanitation, environmental friendliness and impeccable quality of the final product. All this will bring the processing of lamb in the republic to a fundamentally different level.

Irina Zhachkina, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Rosselkhozbank, said that over the past 10 years, mutton production in our country has been steadily growing by 2% per year. Last year, 210 thousand tons of this type of meat were produced in Russia. According to Rosselkhozbank analysts, in the near future the sheep breeding industry will develop according to the model of industrialization, vertical integration and contract farming. Lamb ceases to be perceived as a niche product and takes its place on the retail shelves. Manufacturers are expanding their product range and opening new sales channels.

“Given the increased interest of investors in sheep breeding, we predict that lamb will follow the path of turkey, the production of which has doubled over the past five years,” added Irina Zhachkina. “I am sure that the products of the plant in Cherkessk will be in demand and will quickly win the recognition of consumers.”

Now the plant in the zone of slaughter and cooling of carcasses continues to prepare a sandy base. Sewer installation begins. Then comes the turn of concrete floors. Sandwich panels for internal partitions have already been ordered throughout the enterprise. In parallel, dismantling is carried out in the area of ​​packaging and storage of finished products.

Equipment arrives at the plant. When the complete set is ready, the specialists will begin to mount it. They will install a highly automated GMSTEEL slaughter line with a capacity of 300 heads per hour. A high-speed conveyor line will make it possible to simultaneously produce products for different categories of consumers with different depths of cutting, refusing to work "to the warehouse" and focusing strictly on customer requests. 

Automated cutting and packaging of carcasses will increase the biosecurity of production. It will provide not only high quality and significantly extend the shelf life of lamb. Through the use of high-tech systems for sizing carcasses by weight and steaming meat, offal and intestinal raw materials, the quality will be stable and uniform for all categories of end products. In addition, a ritual automatic box will be installed at the plant to strictly comply with Halal standards. Reliable and modern refrigeration equipment with a capacity of 1.1 MW was ordered in Germany for fast cooling and the highest possible degree of food safety.

One of the most important stages in the modernization of the plant in Cherkessk will be the installation of the latest local treatment facilities (VOCs) and the introduction of advanced technologies for processing industrial waste.
