GAP "Resource" plans to double the number of sheep in the Rostov region

In the region, GAP "Resource" is developing a cluster for the production of lamb. Now sheep complexes with a total population of 26 thousand animals operate in Morozovsky, Milyutinsky and Belokalitvinsky districts. As part of the implementation of the investment project, it is planned to expand the area of existing complexes and create new sites, as well as modernize the slaughterhouse and build a feed mill.

In early March, the press service of the ministry, citing a statement by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the region Konstantin Rachalovsky, reported that the mutton production cluster of GAP Resource was included in the "100 governor's investment projects." In 2022, an enterprise for the slaughter and processing of small cattle was launched in Belaya Kalitva with a capacity of up to 2.5 thousand tons of lamb per year. Last year, 450 tons of MEAT products were produced, of which more than 40 tons were exported.

The Belokalitvinsky cluster includes the creation of three sites for 36 thousand heads, feedlots for 30 thousand heads, a maternity unit, the construction of a feed mill with a capacity of up to 7 thousand tons when working in one shift and an increase to 14 thousand tons when working in two shifts, modernization of the meat processing plant, the capacity of which will be up to 5 thousand tons of lamb per year, said Rachalovsky.

The fact that GAP "Resource" will be engaged in meat processing at the modernized facilities of the agricultural holding "Belaya Ptitsa" became known in June last year. Then the HEAD of the National Meat Association, Sergei Yushin, said that with the expansion of the product line, the company becomes an even more attractive partner for large distribution channels - federal retail chains.

GAP "Resource" is the country's largest producer of broiler meat, the company is also engaged in crop production, the production of feed and sunflower oil, the sale of finished products, etc.
