The conflict between the parties occurred last year: a subsidiary of the holding "Glavprodukt" saw in the design of canned food of the Kurgan MEAT processing plant under the trademark "Family Reserve" signs of violation of the law on protection of competition. In November 2022, Glavproduct JSC sent out a letter to retailers about the supply of counterfeit beef stew from a South Ural manufacturer. In turn, "Standard" filed an application with the Department of Internal Affairs for the Western Administrative District of Moscow demanding an assessment of the actions of a top manager of a competing company.

In April 2023, Orelprodukt JSC filed a complaint with the FAS about plagiarism, in which the legal service of the Mtsensk representative office of Glavprodukt indicated that the accusation concerns not only the label design, but also the name of the trademark itself (since 2011, the plaintiff has been producing beef stew "Family budget").

According to the conclusion of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the labels of canned food are indeed confusingly similar in composition, color of graphic elements, the image of a cow of the same suit and the inscription "Beef", typed in capital letters using a sans-serif font. The brand names are also distinctly similar in meaning.

LLC "Kurgan Meat Processing Plant "Standard"" was found guilty of copying the packaging. An administrative case will be initiated against the violator of the antimonopoly law, although the defendant has already notified the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the termination of the production of canned food of the “Family Reserve” series with a controversial design, providing the necessary evidence.
