The rise in prices for MEAT  - pork and chicken - in the Tomsk Branch of the Bank of RUSSIA was explained by the early arrival of the barbecue season.

“The barbecue season started earlier than usual in the region thanks to the warmer weather. In addition, the May weekend moved to the end of April. Accordingly, the increased demand for meat led to an acceleration in the annual increase in prices for pork and chicken,” said the deputy manager of the Tomsk Bank branch Russia Tatyana Tolkmit.

Tolkmit noted that inflation in the Tomsk region at the end of April was lower than in Siberia, but higher than in Russia as a whole.
