“The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey is expected to visit Belarus. We are working to sign documents during his visit to open supplies of our beef to the Turkish market,” said Alexei Bogdanov.
Last year, Belarus exported MEAT products worth almost $1 billion. This year, its supplies have slightly decreased: over 8 months, the volume amounted to $580 million. The reduction is due to restrictions on exports to the Russian market. "The resumption of supplies of beef on the bone to RUSSIA will add to the volume of exports. In addition, we are actively engaged in diversification," said the HEAD of the main department of foreign economic activity.
As reported, the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR introduced temporary restrictions on the import of beef on the bone and cattle from countries that do not have the official status of the International Epizootic Bureau (OIE) for spongiform encephalopathy, including Belarus, in the spring of this year. Belarus expects to lift these restrictions in the near future.
