For the fourth quarter of 2022, specialists from the Testing Center of the North Caucasus Interregional Veterinary Laboratory examined 30 samples of finished MEAT products for the content of E. coli bacteria in them. Most of the studies were carried out as part of nutritional monitoring - as a result, 2 samples gave a positive result.

Work in this area continued in January of this year. So, the antibiotic enrofloxacin and bacteria of the Escherichia coli group were found by the specialists of the Testing Center of the North Caucasian MVL in a sample of the dry-cured meat product Basturma, which was sent to the laboratory for research as part of food monitoring.

This antibiotic was intended for treatment, the manufacturer of raw materials for the production of the product did not wait for it to be completely eliminated from the body of the animal. Regular consumption of food with antibiotics threatens a person with the adaptation of the body to these drugs, which then simply will not have the desired therapeutic effect. And the bacteria of the Escherichia coli group (ECG), in turn, indicate poor technological discipline in production and insufficient cleaning and sanitization of equipment.

Based on the results of the study, an urgent report was drawn up. The analysis carried out by the laboratory made it possible to prevent the sale of poor quality meat products in the Stavropol Territory.

In just the last three months of last year, the North Caucasian MVL received and analyzed 590 samples for antibiotics in food products and was analyzed by the staff of the Testing Center. Of these, 34 related to meat and meat products - 3 samples gave a positive result. Basically, the institution's analyzes revealed antibiotics in chicken meat and cow's MILK.
