A resident of Baranovichi was taken into custody for a drunken accident with seven victims

July 21, Brest. In Baranovichi, a 24-year-old local resident was taken into custody with the sanction of a prosecutor for a drunken traffic accident with serious consequences, BelTA learned from the information service of the prosecutor's office of the Brest region.

The accident occurred in Baranavichy late in the evening on July 15 at the corner of Gagarin and Chernyshevsky streets. According to the case file, the drunken suspect, driving a Ford Mondeo, failed to yield and collided with a Nissan Leaf that was moving along the main road. As a result of the accident, seven passengers of both cars and the driver of Nissan received various injuries, including one of the passengers - serious bodily injuries.

The criminal case is being handled by the Baranovichi Interdistrict Department of the Investigative Committee. The person involved is charged with part 4 of article 317 (violation of traffic rules when driving a vehicle in a state ofalcohol intoxication , negligently entailing the infliction of grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code.
