A resident of the Stolbtsovsky district will stand trial for beating her roommate to death

August 9, Minsk. The prosecutor's office of the Minsk region studied and sent to the court of the Stolbtsovsky district a criminal case against a 53-year-old local resident, who was charged with intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, which negligently caused the death of the victim, BelTA informs with reference to the information service of the prosecutor's office of the Minsk region.

As follows from the case file, at the beginning of April 2022, a woman, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication at her place of residence in the village of Novokolosovo, severely beat him during a quarrel with her partner. She inflicted at least 38 blows to the man with her hands, feet and a stool on various parts of the body, which caused serious bodily harm. After 4-5 days the victim died.

The prosecutor's office of the region found that the charges were justified, the circumstances of the crime were investigated objectively and the actions of the accused were correctly qualified under Part 3 of Article 147 of the Criminal Code. The criminal case was under investigation by the Minsk Region Department of the Investigative Committee. When sending him to court, the prosecutor left the preventive measure applied earlier to the accused in the form of detention.

For intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in death, the penalty is imprisonment for up to 15 years.
