March 1, Minsk. In the Vitebsk region, two criminal cases have been opened for assaulting police officers. BelTA was informed about this by the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
"In February of this year, several cases were recorded in the Vitebsk region related to the use of physical violence against employees of the internal organs when they were performing their official duties. Thus, a resident of the city of Polotsk, detained for appearing in a public place while intoxicated , deliberately hitting the head of an employee of the local department of the Department of Protection, causing him bodily injuries," the police department said.
Another previously repeatedly convicted resident of the regional center during the arrest for committing an administrative offense, accompanying his actions with foul language against policemen, actively resisted the patrol from the Oktyabrsky District Department of Internal Affairs. As it turned out, earlier the man had already served a sentence for committing a similar crime, but he did not draw the proper conclusions for himself.
In relation to both citizens, the investigating authorities initiated criminal cases for the use of violence against employees of the internal affairs bodies in the performance of their duties to protect public order, and also chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
