May 23, Brest. In Pinsk, a drunk driver without rights caused an accident near a store, BelTA reports with reference to the traffic police department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.

The accident happened at noon on May 22. A 21-year-old Pinsk resident was driving a Mercedes car. He got behind the wheel drunk, the medical examination showed 1.8 ppm of alcohol. In addition, he did not have a driving license. According to preliminary data, in a parking lot near a store on Partizanskaya Street, a young man pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, which caused him to leave the carriageway onto the sidewalk. There, he crashed into a shopping cart box, which fell on top of a 35-year-old woman. The victim was hospitalized.

Law enforcement officers find out all the circumstances of the incident.

"For drunk driving, depending on the degree of intoxication, as well as for refusing to undergo an examination, a fine of up to 200 basic units is applied with deprivation of the right to drive all types of transport for up to 5 years. For a repeated similar violation during the year, criminal liability with confiscation of the vehicle is threatened," - reminded in the State traffic inspectorate.
