
December 6, Minsk . In the Kopyl region, an elderly man was hit and killed by a train. BELTA was informed about this by the Investigative Committee.
On the evening of December 5, near the village of Degtyanye, a 63-year-old resident of the agricultural town of Razdyalovichi, Gantsevichi district, was fatally injured as a result of a collision with a freight diesel locomotive. According to preliminary information, the deceased was walking along the railway tracks and did not respond to the sound and light signals of the train.The investigator, with the involvement of specialists from the State Examination Committee for the Minsk Region, inspected the scene of the incident, recorded the following picture, interviewed eyewitnesses, and ordered a forensic medical examination. All the circumstances of the incident will be established by the Kopyl district department of the Investigative Committee during the inspection. Particular attention will be paid to the causes and conditions that led to the tragedy.
The Investigative Committee once again reminds us of the rules of conduct on the railway. So, you should not be near the tracks in a state ofalcohol intoxication , walking on tracks and sitting on rails, using headphones and mobile phones while crossing tracks. You cannot cross the tracks in front of a moving train without first making sure that there is no railway transport in sight. In addition, it is not recommended to move along the railway track closer than five meters from the outermost rail.
