Minsk . In Berezino, an
intoxicated man stole the relics of St. Spyridon from a church. The treasurer of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker reported the theft to law enforcement, BelTA learned from the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Department of Internal Affairs.
Two men, while intoxicated,
Intoxicated , they wanted to improve their financial situation through sacrilegious means. They decided to steal from the church a relic revered by many Christians around the world—a reliquary containing a particle of the relics of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous.
Law enforcement officials determined that one of the men asked a church employee
for money but was refused. He then stole the relic. He planned to sell
it and use the proceeds to buy more
ALCOHOL.
The thief was quickly apprehended, and the relic was returned to the church. An investigation is underway.
