Today the republican preventive campaign for the prevention of traffic accidents involving minors "Children are safe in summer" ends. Thanks to the measures taken, it was possible to save the lives and HEALTH of children and stabilize the situation with injuries of minors on the roads. For 7 months of the current year, compared to last year, there was a decrease in the number of accidents involving children (from 234 to 199), dead (from 15 to 9) and injured (from 243 to 206) minors in them. However, this is no reason to relax. Active transportation of children from places of rehabilitation and recreation by personal transport begins. As statistics show,

The majority (39.5%) - 85 minors became participants in an accident, being passengers of the vehicle. 6 children died and 79 were injured. At the same time, every second minor passenger was transported in violation of the established rules: 18 - without the use of a child restraint, 19 - without a seat belt, 4 - on a motorcycle without a helmet, 1 each - in a motoblock trailer and on an ATV.

The State Traffic Inspectorate urges to ensure the safe transportation of small passengers, to be extremely careful when driving a vehicle near children's institutions, passing pedestrian crossings and in courtyards.
