The son killed his father with particular cruelty: a resident of Grodno was sentenced

May 25, Grodno. The Grodno Regional COURT issued a verdict in a criminal case of murder with extreme cruelty. This was told to a BelTA correspondent in the press service of the department.

"In December last year, during a quarrel with his elderly father (born in 1948), a resident of Grodno hit him with at least 22 blows with a hammer, cane, hands and fragments of glass bottles in the area where vital organs are located - the HEAD, neck, torso and other parts of the body. The victim died at the scene from the inflicted bodily injuries classified as serious. During the incident, the accused was in a state of intoxication," the regional court said.

The man partially pleaded guilty to the charges and repented of his deed.

By a court verdict, a resident of Grodno was found guilty of deliberately unlawful deprivation of the life of another person (murder), obviously an elderly person, a person in a helpless state, with particular cruelty and on the basis of paragraphs 2 and 6, part 2, article 139 of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 15 years to be served in a penal colony under a reinforced regime.

The verdict has not entered into force and can be appealed and protested in the manner prescribed by law.
