November 19, Brest. In the Brest region, traffic police officers today detained a drunk trucker, BelTA informs with reference to the regional traffic police.

The traffic police inspectors were on duty on the highway M1 Brest - Minsk - the border of Russia. At about 11.00 their attention was attracted by a Volvo car with a semi-trailer. The condition of the 57-year-old Brest resident, who was driving the car, aroused suspicion among the traffic police. A medical examination showed that the driver was drunk - 1.76 ppm of alcohol.

A similar incident occurred in the Drogichinsky district. On the M10 Kobrin-Gomel highway, inspectors stopped a Fiat car driven by a drunk 49-year-old resident of Ivatsevichi. The medical examination showed 2.7 ppm of alcohol in the exhaled air. According to the man, he drank alcohol and went to his beloved.

Administrative materials have been drawn up against both violators. Their cars have been impounded.

Since the beginning of the year, 32 accidents have occurred in the Brest region due to the fault of drunk drivers, in which 10 people died and 32 were injured. During this time, more than 2,000 people were detained in the region, who got behind the wheel drunk.

“For drunk driving, a serious punishment is provided - deprivation of rights, a large fine. In some cases, a criminal case may be initiated. 8 ppm - a fine of 200 BV," the regional traffic police noted.
