Prosecutor's office: crime rate is decreasing in Minsk region, there are fewer murders, cybercrimes

August 11, Minsk. The Board of the Prosecutor's Office of the Minsk Region summed up the work for the first half of the year, the event was chaired by the Prosecutor of the Minsk Region Yury Shchetko with the participation of Deputy Prosecutor General Gennady Dysko. At the same time, there is a 26.2% increase in serious and especially serious crimes, a 14.5% increase in the number of deaths from criminal encroachments, and an increase in the death of people on the railway. The number of crimes committed while intoxicated , by minors, at railway transport facilities, as well as thefts, hijackings, and hooliganism has increased. The number of victims of traffic accidents (from 52 to 56), fires (from 78 to 95), drug use (from 11 to 12) has increased.

The meeting participants discussed issues of ensuring the safe life of the population, problematic aspects of prevention, including with minors. A separate block considers the problems of restoring order in the field of the agro-industrial complex, preventing the non-productive disposal of cattle, and monitoring the course of the harvesting campaign.

Based on the results of the meeting, the board of the prosecutor's office of the Minsk region developed specific measures designed to increase the effectiveness of prosecutorial supervision in the region, to protect the rights and legitimate interests of citizens.
