June 6, Gomel. Employees of the patrol service of the police of Gomel were armed with bicycles. Now, in places of mass recreation of people and in the coastal zone, law and order will be protected not only by foot patrols, but also by policemen on two-wheeled vehicles. This was reported to a BelTA correspondent in the information and public relations department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the regional executive committee.
It will not be easy to distinguish an ordinary cyclist from a law enforcement officer, Anatoly Vasiliev, acting head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, noted. Employees serve without uniforms. Noticing the offense, the policeman will immediately report it to the nearest side, and in case of urgent need, he will be ready to stop the violation of the law unexpectedly for the attacker.Among the advantages of bicycle patrol, the ATC called the mobility and maneuverability of two-wheeled vehicles, its environmental friendliness and noiselessness. So, over the past weekend, such a patrol found two men who drank strong alcohol right on a bench in one of the recreation areas of the Central District of Gomel. After drinking, the friends decided to cool off in a pond. They drew up protocols on an administrative offense.
The Department of Law Enforcement and Prevention of the Department of Internal Affairs added that since the beginning of the swimming season, patrol units have been redistributed - they are close to places of rest. In addition, additional patrol routes have been set up on the territory of Gomel's beaches. In places prohibited for swimming, mobile groups of police officers, district administrations, and OSVOD are working. "78 people have already been brought to administrative responsibility for drinking alcohol and being in a state of intoxication in public places, protocols have been drawn up against two residents of the region for swimming in prohibited places. A whole bunch of offenses have been recorded through the State Traffic Inspectorate - 162 protocols," the police cited figures.
Law enforcement officers drew attention to the following: drinking alcohol or appearing in a public place in a drunken state, including near water bodies, is a violation of Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. For this, you can get a fine of up to eight basic units (1 BV - Br32). Swimming in prohibited areas is a violation of Art. 24.42 of the Code of Administrative Offenses and entails a fine of one to three basic units.
The police reminded vacationers that in places of mass recreation it is important to observe the elementary rules of personal and property safety.
