
August 8, MINSK. The traffic police in the Minsk region revealed 85 lawless people over the weekend. BelTA was informed about this by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
According to the agency, over the past weekend there were five accidents in which one person died and eight were injured. Among the injured was a minor. Over the weekend, traffic police detained 38 drunk drivers. Stopped 85 facts of driving vehicles by citizens who do not have a driver's license. In addition, 91 pedestrians were brought to administrative responsibility. Almost one in three of them was in a state of intoxication .. Another 19 pedestrians were not marked with retroreflective elements. For two days, 83 accidents were registered in the Minsk region without victims, in which cars were damaged.One of the accidents occurred in Borisov. On August 7, at about 4:45 pm, a 61-year-old local resident was driving a Mazda 626 car along a secondary road. When leaving the main road, he did not give way to a Volkswagen Passat car driven by a 39-year-old citizen of Borisov and collided with it. As a result of the collision, a seven-year-old Mazda passenger and a 43-year-old Volkswagen passenger were injured. They received medical attention and did not require hospitalization. The department noted that the boy was in the back seat without a child restraint.
The State Traffic Inspectorate of Internal Affairs said that in the seven months of this year, 45 accidents involving minors were registered in the Minsk region, as a result of which two people died and 44 more were injured.
